Logged in whenever I restart

I just updated to Ubuntu 23.04, and I am running into an issue where whenever I restart my laptop, I am automatically logged in. Here is what happens:

  1. Restart (can restart from either logged in or logged out state)
  2. A zoomed out login page appears with my user profile (not sure why zoomed out, or if relevant).
  3. If I try to click on my user profile, the password input field shows up briefly, but then boots me back to (2)
  4. After 5-10 seconds, a progress bar appears below my username. When it fills up, I am automatically logged in and placed into my DE.
  5. When I log out/lock the screen (ctrl+L), it takes me back to a recognizable logged-out state, and I do have to enter my password.

So basically anyone could grab my laptop and get access, even if I was logged out.

I have tried, unsuccessfully:Changing the passwordToggling on and off the 'autologin' feature (was off when I initially discovered this behavior)..
